Legend partly flat, nearly very fine, dark tone £200-£240

Stray metal detector find, found near St Andrew’s Church, Ford (West Sussex), May 2005

Although very rare, coins with the moneyers’ names on both sides were struck from more than one set of dies. The placing of the ‘initial’ cross at the end of the obverse legend is also a feature in this phase of the coinage.
