David I (1124-1153), Sterling, Period A [c. 1136-40], Edinburgh, Erembald, bust right holding sceptre, [dav]id rex+ around, rev. cross moline with fleur in each angle, +eren[––] on evn[-]vr, 1.26g/12h (SCBI 35 1, 2; B 23, fig. 24, same obv. die; N 909; S 5003). Striking weakness on reverse and with a gentle curve to the flan, otherwise very fine, with an excellent portrait, very rare thus £5,000-£6,000
