Dept.); Delhi Durbar 1903, silver, fitted with silver ribbon buckle, the group mounted as worn, good very fine (6)

David Lockhart Robertson Lorimer was born in 1876 and educated at University College, Dundee, and at the Royal Military College. He entered the Indian Army in 1896 and served on the N.W. Frontier of India 1897-98; Q.V.O. Corps of Guides, 1898-1903; seconded with Khyber Rifles; special duty Coronation Durbar, Delhi, 1902-3; entered Political Department, Government of India, 1903; H.B.M.’s Vice-Consul for Arabistan, 1903-9; Political Agent, Bahrein, 1911-12; H.M. Consul, Kerman and Persian Baluchistan, and ex-officio Assistant to Political Resident, Persian Gulf, 1912-14; Assistant Political Agent, Chitral, 1915; on field service with I.E.F.D. Mesopotamia, Civil Governor Amara, 1915-16; H.B.M. Consul at Kerman, 1916-17; Political Agent at Lorali, 1920, and at Gilgit, 1920-24. Lieutenant-Colonel Lorimer was awarded the C.I.E. in 1917, and retired in 1927. See Lot 245 for related miniature medals.
