Christopher John Weir was appointed Assistant Surgeon with the 90th Light Infantry 30th September, 1863, until 16th September, 1868, when he transferred to the 75th Foot. Surgeon Weir served in the Ashantee Expedition in 1873-4, with the Army Medical Department and retired with the honorary rank of Brigade Surgeon 26th May, 1886.
