Herbert Edward Corner served in the ranks of the Berkshire Imperial Yeomanry in South Africa. He was commissioned Lieutenant, 27th Bn. Imperial Yeomanry, 1902, retiring the same year; Temp. 2nd Lieutenant, 4th Reserve Regiment of Cavalry, 25 December, 1914; attached to the Gold Coast Regiment, W.A.F.F., and served in the Cameroons, West Africa, from 21 July, 1915. He died of diabetes, following wounds, on 30 October, 1917.
