Chris estimates that he’s auctioned over £50 million-worth of coins and medals during his remarkable numismatic career. It all began in 1972, when he joined coin and medal auctioneers Glendining’s, rising through the ranks to become an Associate Director and numismatic specialist.

In 1993 he was invited to join the fledgling medal auctioneers Buckland Dix & Wood, now Noonans, to establish a coin, historical medal, token and banknote department. Since then he’s played a pivotal role in our growth, leading the appraisal and sale of many important collections. He’s now our coin department’s main travelling representative, spending most of his working days visiting clients in the UK and overseas.
