Michael J. Currin served in the regiment’s Machine Gun Section during the Great War - his MIC entry states that he was first actively employed in an Asian theatre of war, but with an entry date of 8 October 1914. He subsequently served in the M.G.C. during the Third Afghan War and transferred to the 8th Hussars in February 1922.
