Queen’s South Africa 1899-1902, 3 clasps, Cape Colony, South Africa 1901, South Africa 1902 (5162 Serjt. W. Webb, 17/Lcrs.) dated clasps with wire rivets, very fine £80-100

William Webb, who was born in the parish of Thurnham, Maidstone, enlisted in the 21st Hussars at Canterbury in October 1890. He subsequently attained the rank of Lance-Sergeant before being placed on the Army Reserve in January 1897, following his marriage in Cairo, but was recalled to the Colours in the Boer War, when he served in the 17th Lancers and qualified for the above described Medal and clasps. He was discharged as medically unfit in Ireland in July 1902.
