Kings of Mercia, Offa (759-96), Penny, Light coinage, East Anglia, Wintred, of fa re x divided by four clusters of pellets, around circle intersected by four petals and containing four pellets around central boss, rev. pi nt rm n in runes around cross potent over inner circle, 1.12g (Chick 181 = SCBI BM 42, same dies; N 331; S 907). Straightened and with a small peripheral edge crack closed, otherwise very fine and extremely rare £900-£1,200
