James Elijah Mann was the son of Mr and Mrs J. E. Mann of 35 Cooks Row, Scarborough. He served during the Great War with the 1st Battalion, Northumberland Fusiliers from 13 August 1914. Private Mann died on the Western Front, 1 November 1914, and is commemorated on the Ypres (Menin Gate) Memorial, Belgium.
