Royal Bank of Scotland, One Guinea, 1 September 1777, serial number 857/297 (?), text, ‘obliged to pay pay Archibald Hope…’, , signatories, Charles Moore and James Simpson, split and rejoined, very good to fine and rare, this type, the ‘Red Head Guinea’, was the first tri-coloured note to be issued in Scotland and possibly in Europe
