The East Surrey Regiment 2nd Volunteer Battalion Officer’s Helmet Plate c. 1883-1901, a very fine example in blackened silver plate with polished highlights, the crowned star pattern back plate with laurel and Garter overlays, in the centre on a ground of black velvet an eight pointed star with a shield bearing the Arms of Guildford, double title scroll at the bottom ‘The East Surrey Regt’ and ‘2nd Volunteer Battalion’, complete with three loop fasteners, excellent condition £260-320
