William Arthur Bennett was born in Old Brompton and lived and enlisted at Chatham, Kent. Serving with “C” Squadron, 9th Lancers, he was killed in action on 15 January 1916, aged 20 years. He was buried in the Vermelles British Cemetery, Pas de Calais, France. He was the son of William and Elizabeth Bennett of Old Brompton, Gillingham, Kent.
