Walter Waverley Spillman was born at Mile End, London in 1888 and attested for the Northamptonshire Regiment at Stratford, Essex in July 1906. He served with the 2nd Battalion during the Great War on the Western Front from 6 November 1914 and was killed in action on 30 January 1915. He is buried at Euston Post Cemetery, Laventie, France.
