A Great War ‘Western Front’ M.C. group of three awarded to Captain R. F. Cuthbery, 2/4th Battalion, Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire Light Infantry

Military Cross, G.V.R.; British War and Victory Medals (Capt. R. F. Cuthbert.); together with hallmarked silver regimental badge, extremely fine (4) £600-£800

M.C. London Gazette 1 January 1918.

Robert Frederick Cuthbert served in France from 23 May 1916, with the 2/4th Battalion, Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire Light Infantry, for the most of the war as Adjutant of the battalion. He was wounded at Arras on 14 November 1917, by a bomb which fell inside the trench.
