The ‘A.M.’ markings to the back indicate that this watch was issued by the Air Ministry and reference code ‘6B/159’ indicating a pilot's/navigator's watch. However, the ‘159’ number has been later crossed out and replaced with '234' which indicates that this watch was repaired and/or reissued during the war.
