Royal Marine Meritorious Service Medal, G.VI.R., 2nd issue (Ply. 12234 C.S.M. W. Nicholson. 28. 2. 1951.) good very fine £140-£180

William Nicholson was born in 1885 and served in the Royal Marines in the Persian Gulf 1909-1914 aboard H.M.S. Fox (Medal with clasp), and during the Great War as a Sergeant (1914-15 Trio). He was awarded the L.S. & G.C. medal in November 1918, and served in the Admiralty Constabulary at R.N. Hospital, Portsmouth, from November 1942 until his retirement in July 1950.
