Memorial Plaque (3) (John Robert Nicholson; William James Nicholson; James Nicolson) last mounted for display in a circular oak frame, generally very fine (3) £80-£100

William James Nicholson, a native of Southwark, London, served with the 4th (London) Mounted Brigade Field Ambulance, Royal Army Medical Corps, and died at home on 15 February 1915. He is buried under a C.W.G.C. headstone in Nunhead (All Saints) Cemetery, London. The recipient has no Medal Index Card, and given the date and location of his death it is likely that he was not entitled to any campaign medals for the Great War.

There are two men with the name John Robert Nicholson, and several men with the name James Nicolson, listed on the Commonwealth War Graves Commission Roll of Honour for the Great War.
