John Roughton Hogg (1811-67), b. Kettering; educ. Oakham School and Christ’s College, Cambridge, BA 1835; ordained deacon, Bristol, 1835; curate, Brixham, 1841; vicar of St Mark’s, Torwood, Torquay, 1855-67; magistrate and JP for Devon; buried at St Mary’s Collaton, a church commissioned by him in 1864 in memory of his eldest daughter, Mary.
