Oxford plume on obv. only, Shrewsbury horseman, no plume behind, high ground line below (a Shrewsbury die), three Oxford plumes above Declaration, date below, reads inimi, 14.26g/7h (Bull 590/4E (Ox.1-6-4r), this coin; Morr. B-4; SCBI Brooker 878; N 2409; S 2950). On a large flan, good fine, rare £500-£700

This coin is illustrated in H.W. Morrieson’s article ‘The Coinage of Oxford, 1642-46’ (BNJ XVI [1921-2], pl. III, 31). It was quite possibly the first coin in lot 517 of the Morrieson sale, but this cannot now be proven
