Charles I (1625-1649), York mint, Halfcrown, Gp 2 [type 2], mm. lion, grass ground line, rev. oval garnished shield, 14.36g/3h (Bull 551; Besly 1B; SCBI Brooker 1077, same dies; N 2310; S 2864). Slightly bowed from the rocker press employed to strike it, some edge and surface flaws and obverse slightly off-centre, otherwise about extremely fine and toned, very rare
