Charles I (1625-1649), Oxford mint, Halfcrown, 1644, mm. rosette and Oxford plume on obv., rosette on rev., Briot’s horseman, Oxford plume behind king, grassy ground line below, rev. Declaration, large Oxford plume between two smaller above, date in large script figures between lozenges, ox below, between rosettes, 14.95g/9h (Bull 611/22; Morr. B-11; cf. SCBI Brooker 905; N 2426; S 2968). Very fine, reverse better with old cabinet tone, the variety extremely rare £800-£1,000
