William and Mary (1688-1694), Pattern (?) for a Halfpenny, unsigned, in copper, undraped laureate bust of William right, rev. undraped bust of Mary right, edge plain, 8.57g/7h (BMC 631; Montagu 2; cf. DNW 57, 632). Usual weakness in legends, otherwise extremely fine and patinated, extremely rare; only three other inferior specimens noted in commerce in the last 40 years £900-1,200
