1939-45 Star; War Medal 1939-45, in their original addressed card forwarding box, the Navy Accounts label inscribed, ‘DNA (Wills)’ and ‘956/49’, with related Admiralty condolence slip in the name of ‘Thomas William Flaherty’, extremely fine (2) £20-30

Thomas William Flaherty does not appear to be on the Commonwealth War Graves Commission register, no doubt as a result of his death in the post-war era. An accompanying handwritten note states that he was born in December 1923 and held the rank of Able Seaman (No. C/JX. 374577); the above described forwarding box is addressed to ‘Mrs. E. M. Flaherty, 65 Trinity Road, Gillingham, Kent.’
