Gordon Findlay died on active service on 25 June 1944, while serving in 602 L.C.M. (Landing Craft Mechanised) Flotilla. He has no known grave and is commemorated on the Portsmouth Naval Memorial; the above described forwarding box is addressed to the recipient’s mother, ‘Mrs. H. Findlay, 62 Garden Street, Padiham, Burnley, Lancs.’
