France, 1969. FRANCE, Tout est Accompli, a large cast bronze medal by A. Volti, Christ on the Cross, two other figures being crucified behind, reverse Virgin Mary with the body of Christ, 129mm, edge stamped 1 (CGMP p.1891). Extremely fine and very rare (£300-400)

The large size of this medal was a limited issue of the Club Français de la Médaille; only 150 examples were made.

Antoniucci Volti (1915-89), Italian sculptor, studied at the École des Arts Décoratifs in Nice, and then worked with Jean Boucher at the École National des Beaux-Arts in Paris. From 1963 until shortly before his death he designed medals for the Monnaie de Paris. See
