Jean-Baptiste Maire (1787-1859) started to study at The Beaux-Arts in 1816 with Lemot. At his death his daughter gave to the Numismatic Department of Besançon Museum seven dies for repoussé work. (See Gazette Nunismatique (1897), F.Mazerolle, pp.289/298 and BDM III, p. 536).
