Wallace George Langford died of wounds 27.6.1916. Sold with extract from the War Diary which shows that he was killed by an enemy rifle grenade whilst serving in the front line trench.
John Joseph Langford was killed in action 15.9.1916. Sold with extract from the War Diary, “The Battalion advanced towards Flers at 6.15 a.m. in waves of 150 men each. The first wave occupied the Hun first line, the second wave followed taking their second line, the third and fourth advanced on the west half of Flers. Casualties: 7 Officers killied and 7 wounded; Other Ranks 57 killed, 227 wounded (3 died) and 59 missing.
