Archie Mayers lived in Boscombe, Hampshire and enlisted at Christchurch. Serving as a Sapper with the Base Signal Depot, he died whilst on service in East Africa on 31 May 1917. His name is commemorated on the Dar-es-Salaam British and Indian Memorial. With named lid to medal card box of issue.
