Arthur Llewellyn Acraman attained the rank of Sergeant-Major in the Welsh Regiment in April 1908. He was subsequently commissioned Q.M. & Hon. Lieutenant in the 16th Battalion (Cardiff City) in November 1914 and arrived in France at the end of the following year. Remaining employed there until invalided home on account of ill-health in early 1916, he was next appointed to the 12th (2nd Reserve) Battalion on the Home Establishment. Later still, he transferred to the Cheshire Regiment, in which capacity he saw further service in France prior to his demobilisation as a Q.M. & Hon. Captain in September 1919; sold with copied research.
