Imperial Service Medal, E.II.R., 1st issue (Percy Stanley Inge D.S.M.) in Royal Mint case of issue; together with a Sea Services Commemoration Medal 1914-1919 (J.1840 P. S. Inge, P.O., Winning Cutter’s Crew, Thames Pageant, Aug. 4th 1919), 52mm., silver, in Hemming & Co., London case of issue; Victory Medal 1914-19 (3318S.D. C. E. Percy Stanley Inge was born in Faversham, Kent on 4 May 1892. He worked as a Farm Labourer before enlisting to join the Royal Navy on 27 July 1908. Served at the battle of Jutland on board the destroyer H.M.S. Lizard. He died on 14 August 1973.

Was awarded the Distinguished Service Medal (
London Gazette 23 July 1918) at Zeebrugge for his services aboard the blockship H.M.S. Intrepid. It was to him that Captain Bonham-Carter detailed the duty of scuttling the ship. He and the Captain being the last two to leave the ship before she sank. They got away in a dinghy with six others. The dinghy subsequently overturned and they were in the water for some time before being picked up by a motor launch.

Awarded the I.S.M. (
London Gazette 25 October 1955) as a Technical Officer in the Gloucester Telephone Area.

Percy Stanley Inge’s group: D.S.M.; 1914-15 Star trio; 1939-45 Star; Defence and War Medals are held by the National Maritime Museum.

With
A Plain Communion Book, named to P. S. Inge, who was confirmed at Shotley Barracks, 12 December 1908; cloth chevrons and badge and a Victory Medal to his cousin Charles Edward Inge. Together with a quantity of copied research including service paper and gazette extracts.
