Alexander II (1214-1249), Short Cross and Stars coinage, Phase D, Sterling, Roxburgh, Pieres, piere[s on] roc, left facing bust with sceptre mis-placed behind, 1.32g/4h (cf. SCBI 35, 88; cf. B 3, fig. 72; S 5036). Slightly off-centre and part flat, otherwise fine and very rare, the engraving error most unusual (£500-600)
