François Pompon (1855-1933), sculptor; pupil of the École des Arts Décoratifs, who worked alongside Mercié, Falguière and Rodin. His fine model of a polar bear, L’Ours blanc, exhibited at the Autumn Salon of 1922, brought him wide acclaim. Most of his works are exhibited in the museum at Dijon.
