Vikings in York: Cnut, Quadrefoil type, Winas, Crewkerne, pinas on crvc, ‘Exeter’ style bust, 1.06 gms (SCBI American Collections 489, this coin; BMC 45 and SCBI Copenhagen 300-1, same dies). Good very fine, typical “Exeter” style, traces of overstriking on a coin of the same type. With the exception of BMC 45 and another Penny (FEJ 221) of this type and mint (both die duplicates) the only coin of this excessively rare mint recorded outside Scandinavia (£1,200-1,600)
