A section of white nylon rope used in the Iranian Embassy Siege on 5th May 1980, approximately 20 inches in length, contained in a sealed bag attached to a piece of 22 SAS Regiment headed notepaper with the following typed note: ‘Iranian Embassy Siege. This is to confirm that this piece of rope was part of a number of ropes used by the SAS at the rear of the Iranian Embassy during the storming of that building in May 1980’, dated 21 January 1988, condition commensurate with active service!
