Harris, 21 S.A.S.(V), including original warrant of appointment as Warrant Officer, T & AVR, Special Air Service Regiment, dated 15 January 1980; parachute qualification certificate from the R.N.Z.A.F. Parachute Training Unit, March 1974; Proficiency Award certificate and cloth patch for Cross Country Skiing (Sgt., 21 SAS(V)); Certificate of Appreciation from 11th Special Forces Group (US) Airborne for Operation ‘Cascade Laurel’ 1979 (WO2, 21st Special Air Service Regiment (Artists) (Volunteer); a similar certificate for Operation ‘Honey Gift’ 1980; two Safe Conduct Passes for use during training operations by friendly forces with the SAS; various items relating to Operation ‘Nimrod’, the Iranian Embassy Siege, including front and rear line drawings of the Embassy as used by the CRW team to plan the assault, and an Embassy siege Sighting Report “To be completed by any officer sighting an occupant of the embassy” (Lot)

Warrant Officer Frederick Walter Harris is believed to have been involved in the planning of Operation Nimrod, the SAS raid on the Iranian Embassy. Located in London he may have been co-opted from “R” Squadron to assist in some of the myriad tasks that led to the final success on 5 May 1980.
