Cyril ‘Charlie’ Bridge enlisted on 25 August 1944 and served with the Army of Occupation in Italy at the end of the Second World War. He joined 22 S.A.S. in 1953 and, after training in the U.K., served with “A” Squadron in Malaya 1953-56, completing fourteen operational tree descents in the jungle.
