Hashim Khan's I.D.S.M. was one of the first three to Hodson's Horse for France. Regimental Records note that he received the I.D.S.M. ribbon on 4 March 1917, which implies that it was an immediate field award. He was accidentally wounded on 31 March 1917, and it seems that either death or infirmity led to his retirement sometime in 1917.
