Private James Turner was killed in action on 23 September 1944 in the fighting around St Oedenrode, east of Best. He is buried in Mierlo War Cemetery, Netherlands. He served with the 1st Battalion in Palestine and probably in France in 1939-40, transferring to the 6th Battalion for the landings in Normandy.
