Warrant Officer Kriehn served with the 4th Battalion as part of the 150th Infantry Brigade which was virtually wiped out by Rommel in Libya on 1 June 1942. Amongst the 3,000 captured men was C.S.M. Kriehn who was interned in Camp 357. He is not listed by the Commonwealth War Graves as having died so he may have died after his return from captivity, and before his medals were issued.
