Geoffrey William Heap was commissioned 2nd Lieut., Lancashire Fusiliers, 14 July 1916; 2nd Lieut., Royal Air Force, Flying Branch, 2 August 1918; Lieut., Royal Air Force, 31 December 1918; relinquished commission in Royal Air Force and rejoined Lancashire Fusiliers, 4th Battalion, in June 1920. He continued to serve in the Territorial Army Reserve of Officers and in February 1944 was promoted Temp. Major, attached to Home Guard. He is also known to have acted in the West End of London under the name of Geoffrey Robinson.
