Walter Jackson lived at Todmorden, Yorkshire, and enlisted at Rochdale. He served in the 16th Battalion and died on 28 February 1918, of wounds received the previous day during a minor raid on the outskirts of Houthulst Forest. His brother, Albert Jackson, served with the 3rd Siege Battery, Royal Garrison Artillery, and died on 19 February 1919, and is buried in the east part of Todmorden (Christchurch) Churchyard. Records show that they were the sons of Fergus and Mary Jackson of Todmorden, Yorkshire.
