Frank Brine enlisted into the 3/5th Battalion and was part of a draft of men who were sent to join the 2/5th Battalion in France. He was killed in action on 9 September 1916 during the Battle of Ginchy.

George Stephen Brunger was born and enlisted in Hastings, Sussex, for the 3/5th Battalion. He was killed in action in the trenches at Broodseinde in France on 17 November 1917.
