William Hutton was born in Melville, Edinburgh, and enlisted at Bury for the1/5th Battalion. He was killed in action at Gallipoli on 6 June 1915, during the Third Battle of Krithia, 4-6 June. The 1/5th Battalion lost 130 all ranks killed, wounded and missing in this action.
