Collection of Sixpences formed by the late Alfred Bole

Charles I (1625-1649), Provincial issues, Worcester or Shrewsbury, mm. castle on obv., boar’s head on rev., bust of crude style, annulets in caul and on band of crown and armour, annulet stops, rev. square-topped shield, lion’s paw between annulets at top, trefoil stops, 2.88g/12h (Allen A-2; SCBI Brooker 1175, same obv. die; N 2621; S 3115). Legends weak in places and flan flaw on obverse, otherwise very fine and very rare £4,000-5,000
