Imron Mian joined the Indian Army in 1882. He was appointed a Subadar on 9 March 1897 and retired in 1904. In addition to his service in China during 1900, he also served in Burma, 1886-87 (medal and clasp), and took part in the operations in Mekran in 1898, including the actions at Gok Parosh.
