John Walsh enlisted for service in the Great War on 12 March 1915. Serving with the 1st Battalion Royal Lancaster Regiment he entered the France/Flanders theatre of war on 2 May 1915. As a Corporal with the 8th Battalion he earned the Military Medal; possibly for services at Longueval and Delville Wood, 18/19 July 1916. He was discharged on 14 December 1918 and awarded the Silver War Badge. Additionally entitled to a 1914-15 Star trio. With copied research.
