Harry O’Donovan French attested at Durban on 15 November 1899. At the battle of Spion Kop, 24 January 1900, he was reported as being ‘Missing in Action’. Having been captured, one of 64 to the Imperial Light Infantry, he remained a prisoner-of-war of the Boers until his release on 6 June 1900. With copied attestation paper, casualty roll extract and some notes.
