William Pitcaithly was born in Stirling, Scotland. A Farm Servant by occupation, he attested for the Royal Artillery on 20 December 1899, aged 24 years. Served with the 97th and 82nd batteries R.F.A. Also served in the Great War and was awarded the 1914 Star trio. With some copied service and pension papers, roll extract and m.i.c.
