William Sayers enlisted on 8 February 1898 and served throughout the Boer War in the 1st Battalion; afterwards serving with the 2nd Battalion in India. During the Great War he entered the France/Flanders theatre of war on 15 August 1914 and at some later date was wounded and taken prisoner. Being released, he was discharged due to his wounds on 18 December 1918. Awarded the 1914 Star trio and Silver War Badge. With copied roll extracts and m.i.c.
